Indeed, before taking action, criminals generally locate the targeted house. By doing so, these intruders have the opportunity to discover the strengths and weaknesses of the home. Thus, the cameras present send a warning message to the latter. If, however, they still take the decision to commit an offence, the images recorded by the surveillance cameras will serve as evidence before the insurance companies and the courts. It will therefore be possible to identify them.

Like video surveillance, the anti-intrusion alarm system plays a deterrent role. Thanks to motion detectors and contactors integrated into the windows and doors of the house, the device alerts the occupants of the accommodation and the neighborhood. In addition, the siren activated by this system scares away intruders. Pets, meanwhile, can move freely around the property. Generally, intruder alarm devices are equipped with volumetric sensors specially designed to differentiate humans from animals.

Technology at the service of security

The various motion detection elements are wirelessly connected to the alarm system control unit. In the event of an intrusion, the latter triggers the siren after having received the signal emitted by the sensors. Some models can notably warn the owner of the house by sending a text message, or video images. Thus, this person will be able to contact the police or the gendarmerie even if they are not at home.

There are also anti-intrusion alarm devices capable of automatically activating the recording of images taken by surveillance cameras if an intruder has managed to enter the home. Keep in mind that this wireless technology requires regular maintenance.

Indeed, you have to change the batteries of the different devices when necessary. To overcome this drawback, it is possible to opt for a wired model. Depending on the architecture of the house, however, it may be more complicated to install this type of alarm.

For their part, surveillance cameras are also taking advantage of technological advances. The latest models are connected to the internet. Therefore, the user has the possibility to control the cameras from his laptop, a tablet or a smartphone. In addition, some cameras are equipped with infrared imaging. This helps identify criminals in the dark.

But what about the cost?

Twenty years ago, the price of video surveillance systems was excessively high. Now, for a few hundred euros, it is possible to equip yourself with a state-of-the-art device.
